Peace & Contagion
by Nattie O'Sheggzy
In the light that gently stirs
there lies harmony of the forested minds
by the grated window that patiently waits.
The butterfly is in and out of the cocoon
If I were supposed to wriggle
I spread the wings of my words in the winds
shimmying like a worm to the sounds of songs,
now there is a better way to hide my pains
something sensuous, sometimes crisp,
something is hanging to the grips of my teeth
in the flickering shadow.
Painted Lady dances to the pound of my feet
What begins as a lulling moment,
a flipping of the feathers to the hymns of joy
instills calm in my hungry soul.
For how long, I do yet yearn for more.
