Anchor Bracelets

by Jeffrey Cyphers Wright

Hot to Trotsky. Climb or be climbed upon.
A cloud isn’t a mask. “If” isn’t a sentence.
Chew the light like a dogwood would!

Instructions for getting lucky: Surround
truth’s enablers and offer no quarter. Two
bits or not two bits. On one side a tail,

on the other, God’s overdue books.
Hole-allujah. Do you ever feel lonely or
depressed? Think of yourself as a judge
high over a desert isle in a trial balloon.

A branch scratches at the window,
studiously scribbling in its glass diary.

The wind is sugar dancing. Hold me close,
tiny tempest. A blue clock full of red leaves.
