fall/winter

the ghosts
are conspiring
sitting at
big table
grinning
at me

***

do not
break
down in spyros
deli do not
buy excedrin
extra strength
pain + plus
acetaminophen
aspirin
caffeine
$  .99

***

the obliteration of love
braintree of sorrow
maybe as charisse says
flicking her cigarette, its
the weather, just too cool
and i'm depressed

***

i swim
the blizzard of 2010
flakes hitting
glass above
42nd
& sit in the
window of
Minerva w/
espresso &
watch
ditto
days later
take 2 or 3 to bklyn
lincoln park/playground
w/ozzy
knee-deep
thru drifts
past midnite
subway
at 5th & bergen
flakes full-tilt
flick neon/street/split/light
snow-cap
seashell
snow-shell
sea-cap
i am so in
the pink

***

the view from the tiny globe
where i twinkle my toes

present future tense
real tense in real time

oh for that phone call
oh for an outbreak

of
up

as soon as its dark,
not before, as soon as

its dark i'm good

***

helen
died wednesday.
i just saw her says bob,
tuesday, the
day before,
walking her
dog.

thats how it is
rosie says,
1 minute y're
out here
walking yr
dog the
next day
Bada-Bing.

***

i'm going on nerve endings
and nerve endings
have me on the run,
black high-top
boots flick snow,
must take a pause,
keep filaments rising,
hip-hop

fitting
that you step
this way, mr. last-quarter moon,
pasted smack-dab
forehead stage front
center

under siege

the first
lines
in yr face
are not
what you want
to see
or the loss
of energy
stamina
power
dust, mold
line
the walls
& rot
then
in the window
winter
feathers
distant
sun
memory
