TREADWELL, NY — Word Thursdays will present an All Open reading on Thursday, October 10; the reading, during which each poet or writer will be invited to read for up to 10 minutes, will begin at 7 p.m. at Bright Hill Center, 94 Church Street, Treadwell (Delaware Co.), NY, one block north of Route 14. A reading of his work by the acclaimed poet Marvin Bell, originally scheduled for October 10, will be postponed to October 2003, due to an injury sustained by Mr. Bell.

At the Center's Word and Image Gallery during October is Bright Hill Press's First Juried Art Exhibit, judged by Richard Minksy, who founded the famed New York Center for Book Arts, and Syracuse University Library's Director of Special Collections Peter Verheyen. They selected forty-five artists' books and fine bindings by twenty-nine artists from throughout the United States and Argentina for the exhibit. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, 1 - 4 p.m through October 27. Next season's exhibits will begin in March, 2003.

Bright Hill Center's programs are funded, this year, by the New York State Council on the Arts, a State agency; the A. Lindsay and Olive B. O'Connor Foundation; the Walter Rich Charitable Foundation, the Merrill Family Fund, the Dewar Foundation, the A. C. Molinari Foundation, Stewart's Shops, area merchants and businesses; and by Bright Hill Press members and friends.
